Affiliate Campaign Comparison Template

A fair campaign comparison needs more than a revenue ranking. This scorecard separates scale, efficiency and confidence so one large campaign does not hide a smaller, better opportunity.

The scorecard

Create one row for each campaign and use the same reporting window. Recommended columns are campaign, channel, offer, human clicks, conversions, commission, conversion rate, average commission, EPC, confidence and next action.

The template works in a spreadsheet or inside a link-revenue workspace. The important part is keeping the definitions stable.

  • Conversion rate = conversions ÷ clicks
  • Average commission = commission ÷ conversions
  • EPC = commission ÷ clicks
  • Revenue share = campaign commission ÷ total commission

Add a confidence label

A campaign with one sale from ten clicks may show an excellent EPC, but the estimate is fragile. Add a simple confidence label based on exposure and repeatability rather than treating every calculated rate as equally reliable.

Use ‘learning’ for very small samples, ‘directional’ when several conversions show a pattern and ‘established’ only after the campaign has accumulated enough activity across time. The thresholds should fit your normal traffic and price point.

Read the four campaign quadrants

High revenue and high EPC is a strong candidate to protect and scale. High revenue with low EPC may be surviving on volume and deserves conversion work. Low revenue with high EPC may need more exposure. Low revenue and low EPC needs a clear reason to continue.

Context still matters. A seasonal campaign may be intentionally dormant, while a new evergreen article may need time to rank. Record that context beside the number instead of altering the metric.

Run one-variable improvement tests

When a campaign underperforms, change one major variable at a time: the offer, call to action, placement, audience or creative. Multiple simultaneous changes make the result difficult to interpret.

Define the review window before launching the change. Use both a minimum time and a minimum number of clicks so a quiet week does not create a false conclusion.

Close the review with a decision

Every row should end with scale, improve, hold or stop. Add the next action, owner and review date. This turns the scorecard from a historical report into an operating tool.

LinkYield calculates revenue and EPC at the link level after you record confirmed commission, making the comparison easier to maintain across active campaigns.
